EARS on Shanghai, Dec. 2-3, 2013

EARS is a place to meet old and new friends, share and discover business opportunities and best practices, and get inspired by people and ideas. On December 2nd and 3rd 2013, 'EARS on Shanghai' will bring over a hundred international leaders from the music, performing arts, design, media and Internet technology industries and representatives from foreign government agencies to Shanghai to network and share best practices with their Chinese counterparts.

EARS – Europe-Asia Roundtable Sessions is a new platform focusing on creative industry collaboration between Europe and Asia. EARS is a series of events and a website both dedicated to introducing latest trends and developments between Europe and Asia through talented professionals. The mission of EARS is to help build and foster relationships between creative industries professionals.

EARS has a partnership with Design Shanghai, and is one of the main events of the festival’s opening week. Design Shanghai is a biennale that began in 2000 as the Shanghai Design Exhibition, and which has six successful exhibitions under its belt to this date.

The program will include successive half-day music, performing arts, media and design panels, round tables and networking sessions, covering topics important to today’s creative industries. This year, EARS on Shanghai will also include concert events, design exhibitions and more! Speakers include Jamy Yang, one of the top product designers from China; several international advertising and communication awards won graphic designer and curator Pan Jianfeng; the supervising animation producer at Rovio Entertainment Tianyi Pan and one of Shanghai’s most esteemed contemporary art museums Rock Bund Art Museum’s director
Larys Frogier.

The delegation also include Shen Lihui, the founder and CEO of Modern Sky Entertainment, which is the leading music entertainment company in mainland China and the organizer of China’s biggest music festival; over 20 years as manager and consultant for big culture organisations worked Kwong Wai-lap and architect. Another guest will be Teemu Kurkela, the designer of the Finnish Pavillion for the EXPO 2010 in Shanghai that won the prize for the best pavilion for the mid-sized pavilions.

EARS on Shanghai is organised with the support of new lifestyle company Octave. Octave will host EARS on Shanghai 2013 in conjunction with the soft launch of their new flagship space in the former French Concession. Octave is a lifestyle and learning concept that embraces a holistic approach to self-care and personal transformation. EARS’ guests will have the opportunity to try out different relaxing methods.
