Over 80 creative industries stakeholders gathered in Brussels on 23 September 2015 for the "Create! Innovate! Grow!" seminar organised jointly by the European Creative Industries Alliance, DG GROW and ERRIN. The Alliance's policy recommendations towards "Maximizing the Innovative Contributions of Europe’s Creative industries" were discussed, initiatives of the European Commission to support creative industries were presented and a new association to continue the work of the Alliance was announced.
During the final conference of Cluster2020 and ECCL on November 25th 2014, EB presented the 4th Technical Note on Creative Industries, handling the findings of the Cluster2020 project, case studies and more.
On 27-28 November 2014, the European Creative Industries Alliance (ECIA) presented ten policy recommendations following their three years of work. The recommendations are described and supported with concrete cases in the final report. During the Closing Conference in Amsterdam (the Netherlands) the recommendations were discussed in panel discussions and small sessions. Read the recap here.
On the 3rd of October the Amsterdam Economic Board organized a workshop for European policymakers within the creative industries. Representatives from 11 different European cities and regions participated in this workshop. Eight representatives gave a presentation about the creative industries policies in their region, an analysis of the development of the policy during the past years, and foreseen challenges for future policy development. This report gives a short overview of the main points of this workshop.
The ECCL Global Study Visit to Brazil, in February 2014, brought ECCL new contacts and ideas on cooperation. The world of creative entrepreneurs is getting more and more connected: the creative sector takes advantage of the Internet like no other economic sector, but at the same time, it can be locally based and socially responsible.
