Call for Entries: Design Award ‘The Great Indoors’

The fourth edition of the international biennial interior design award 'The Great Indoors' is in full swing. From all over the world, interior design projects, realized between September 2011 and August 2013, have been coming in since June, and because of this continuous stream of entries, the organization of The Great Indoors 2013 has decided to extend the deadline from 8 September to 15 September 2013.

The Great Indoors 2013This edition’s theme ‘The Nature of Things’ is a study of the material and immaterial developments of interiors within a globalized reality.

Entries can be submitted via www.the-great-indoors.com. The Great Indoors is organized by Marres, centre for contemporary culture, Bureau Europa/Platform for Architecture, and FRAME magazine.

Award
The Great Indoors Award will honour interior design projects in the following four categories:

  • Show & Sell (Retail: shops, showrooms, trade-fair stands, exhibitions)
  • Relax & Consume (Leisure: hotels, bars, clubs, restaurants, wellness centres)
  • Concentrate & Collaborate (Work: offices, studios, conference centres)
  • Serve & Facilitate (Public: libraries, hospitals, theatres, schools)

The winner of each category will receive a monetary prize of € 5.000.

The Great Indoors will be concluded in Maastricht with a festive award ceremony on 15 November, and a Design route along the student projects on 16 November.
