ECCL goes Brazil: Global Study Visit for SME internationalization


From the 26th of January until the 2nd of February 2014 the European Creative Cluster Lab (ECCL), through its Partner City of Warsaw, has visited Brazil with the aim of gathering good practices on creative industries, starting a long term oriented strategic cluster/SME partnership and focus on actual international SME cooperation through Clusters.

The tour of Brazil was the occasion to meet the Secretary of Culture and its Program “Rio Criativo” – a project Development Program of the Creative Economy of the State of Rio de Janeiro, where selected enterprises being incubated. The initiative aims to encourage the consolidation of creative actions in the State. Beside this event, a meeting was scheduled with representatives of the Ministry of Culture, National Creative Economy Sector, whose main effort is for creative clusters development at national level and financing creative sector projects. 
Finally, the ECCL delegation will meet the SEBRAE Nacional – a SME support institution – in order to share methods and practices towards SME development.

The ECCL Global Study visit provided the chance to promote start-ups from the Local Government position, but also to find solutions to stimulate cooperation between traditional companies and creative sector and above all, disclose possibilities for the ECCL Partner’s Clusters to develop international contacts through the realization of projects and the network development. With this aim and in order to promote their Clusters, the ECCL project developed a catalog about 50 main Creative Clusters of the ECCL project territory.
