First pilot training of the European Creative Cluster Lab

10 OCTOBER 2012

On October 1st the team of the European Cluster Lab (ECCL) had the chance to pilot the first ECCL training module within the Cluster Facilitator Training 2.0 of REGX – the Danish Cluster Academy. Creative cluster management with social media was the topic of this training that took place during a full training day dedicated to communication strategies for clusters. Ten creative cluster managers have joined this two hours module and in the end were confident that the new insights will perk up their daily work as cluster managers.

121010_ECCL Pilot TrainingThe training topic “social media” is one outcome of qualitative interviews conducted with cluster managers in Europe in the last months within the European Creative Cluster Lab. According to the results social media is one major communication channel within creative clusters.

Even though most of creative cluster managers already make use of social media, the training unveils further application potential not only for the usual marketing but also to support cooperation and collaboration among the cluster team and the clusters’ members. A structured and strategic approach to social media and its implementation in the marketing mix is crucial to convey and follow the marketing objectives.

In addition to the social media training further trainings in different fields of creative cluster management are currently under development by the ECCL team. The different modules will be tested in various pilot trainings and will be publicly available towards the end of the project including comprehensive teaching notes. A draft curriculum will be published shortly via the ECIA web platform.
