Invest in creativity: ECCL workshops in Warsaw

In May and June 2014 the creative sector companies had the opportunity to participate in a number of interesting workshops organized by the European Creative Cluster Lab project in the City of Warsaw.

Workshop Legislation - Warsaw, june 2014The program has covered topics such as brand strategy and its communication, law in creative operations, financing creative ideas and also special networking meeting. All the “Invest in creativity” workshops were split into two parts, theoretical introduction and individual consults, for 100 people selected on the basis of their professional achievements and their success in the creative sector.

Branding workshop
The first workshop, focused on brand strategy and brand communication, was held on May 15-16, and was led by the experts coming from GO CULTURE company – one of a few European agencies specialized in image-building and developing publicity through culture, art or entertainment. The main themes of the first day of the meeting were: what is a brand, how can you position it and deliberately shape their image, how is it possible to develop the potential of the brand, how to work out the communication plan and brand publicity, how to cooperate efficiently with the media. The following day was structured as a series of individual consultations, where different groups of recipients worked on specific issues concerning their work and brand building.

Learning about legislation
The second workshop, on creative industry legislation, took place on May 29-30 and was led by Lawmore Company, which is specialized in supporting companies coming from the creative sector. The key subjects of the workshop considered Civil law, tTrade law, IPR (intellectual property rights) and major legislations connected with creative operations.

The last meeting, called “Finances for creatives. How to look for an investor and funds to implement creative projects” dealt with different creative sector financing possibilities: and was held by the Institute for Entrepreneurship Creation, in cooperation with Academic Business Incubators.

From idea to business
The “Invest in creativity” program offered also a Conference, held on June 16th , titled “From idea to business”, featuring a map of creative projects financing tools, practical aspects of clustering in a creative field, possibilities of financing creative projects in Idea Bank Bussiness Incubator, the financing of startups from the point of view of the investor and the idea of crowdfunding – social financing for creative.The event was closed by a mentoring meeting for startups from creative branch.
