Women In Business Challenge 2014

27 DECEMBER 2013

For the 5th time, BiD Network and ING are looking for female entrepreneurs from Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America with promising business plans for the Women in Business Challenge 2014. Since women are facing more difficulties during the start-up of a business, the Challenge aims to address these problems and to support five women who are starting their own business. Apply now!

Background
“In 2009, only 17% of bidnetwork.org members were comprised by women entrepreneurs. Aware that women are key agents for sustainable development and so that they can have access more services and support, BiD Network launched the Women in Business Challenge – to support and promote entrepreneurial equality. As a result of these efforts, women entrepreneurs now make up 35% of the member base, but further work remains to be done, locally and globally.” (Source: BiD Network)

But the challenge and competition is not all. In the few editions that were organized, over 800 women received business support of the Women in Business organization. This was done by providing funding as well as coaching and creating visibility. The 10 finalists are awarded a business trip that will be all about trainings, B2B and meetings with potential investors. The final winner receives a € 5000,- prize.
